Hamas ambushed Israeli troops near Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, killing Warrant Officer Ghaleb Sliman Alnasasra, a tracker from Rahat. He is the first Israeli soldier killed since the war resumed on March 18. The ambush involved RPG fire from a tunnel shaft and an IED detonation that also seriously wounded multiple soldiers, including members of the 414th Combat Intelligence Unit. In response, the IDF launched airstrikes on Hamas targets and continued operations to expand a buffer zone in the area.
