Hamas, the militant organization of Palestine, returned the bodies of 4 Israeli hostages on Thursday. According to Hamas, three of these bodies were from two children and his mother Shiri Bibas.
The Israeli army on Friday claimed that Hamas has not returned the body of Shiri Bibas. The body of someone else has been handed over to him. However, the bodies of both children have been identified.
The bodies of both children- Ariel and Kefir Bibas were identified by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine with the help of Israeli police and family of children. According to a forensic report, the children died in November 2023 under Hamas’s captivity.

While identifying the body, it became clear that this body is not of Shiri Babas. This body is not matching any other person present in Hamas’s captivity. This is an unknown body.
The Israeli army said that by doing so Hamas has violated the agreement of hostage. Our demand is that Hamas Shiri should return the body of Bibas. Hamas has not yet responded to this claim of Israel.

Kefir was the youngest hostage in Hamas’s captivity When Kefir was taken hostage, he was just 9 months old. He was then the youngest hostage in Hamas’s possession. Hamas claimed in November 2023 that Shiri and their two children had died in Israeli bombing.
Hamas also released a video in which Yorden Bibas was telling the Israeli PM Netanyahu responsible for the death of his family. However, Israel never accepted this claim of Hamas.
An Israeli official told the Reuters that the deceased hostages would be identified in Israel before declaring the names. For forensic examination of these bodies, Tel Aviv’s Abu Kabir Institute of Forensic Medicine will be taken.

So far, the bound of hostage has been exchanged In Israel and Hamas, on January 19, there was a ceasefire for the release of the hostages, in which the release of the hostages is to be done in 3 phases. 33 Israeli hostages are to be released under the first phase. Out of this, 19 hostages have been released in lieu of more than 1100 Palestinian prisoners so far. Israel says that eight out of the remaining 14 have died.
Under the ceasefire deal implemented last month, hostage and Palestinian prisoners have been swapped six times.

Ceasefire deal being completed in three phases
This deal of exchange of prisoners between Israel and Palestine will be completed in three phases. In this, hostage will be swapped for 42 days.
First Phase:
- From January 19 to March 1, there will be a complete ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas 33 will release Israeli hostages. Israel will release 33 Palestinian prisoners in lieu of one of its hostages daily. 50 Palestinian prisoners will be released in lieu of each Israeli female soldier.
Second phase:
- It was said that on the 16th day of the first phase, i.e. by February 3, everything goes well, then the negotiation on the second phase plan will begin. The attack will not be done during this time. The remaining hostages will be released alive. However, the conversation has not started yet.
- Israel will release 1 thousand Palestinian prisoners, out of which around 190 prisoners have been serving sentence for more than 15 years.
Third Phase:
- Gaza will be resettled in the last phase of this deal. It will take 3 to 5 years. The bodies of hostage killed in Hamas’s possession will also be handed over to Israel.
