Why did the umpire check Hardik Pandya’s bat?
When Hardik came to bat, the umpire investigated whether the size of his bat is according to the IPL rules or not. If this did not happen, then trouble would have arisen for them. According to the rules, the width of the bat should not exceed 4.25 inches (or 10.8 cm). The edge should be 1.56 inch (or 4.0 cm) and depth should be up to 2.64 inches (6.7 cm). The umpire passes through a tool and checks whether the bat is according to these instructions or not.
