DGP Gaurav Yadav said that some of his companions have been arrested in America. Shahnaz Singh fled to India after his arrest in the US, but the Punjab Police chased him and arrested him.
The Punjab Police carried out this action in collaboration with international security agencies. This action reflects the zero tolerance policy of the Punjab government and the police against drug smuggling and organized crime. Police said that Punjab would not be allowed to become a safe haven for drug mafia and criminals.
Four of his colleagues already arrested in America
Earlier on 26 February 2025, four of its associates were arrested in the US:
- Amritpal Singh aka Amrit aka Bal
- Amritpal Singh aka Cheema
- Takdir Singh aka Romi
- Sarabjit Singh aka Sabi
- Fernando Valadres aka Franco
US officials seized 391 kg methmfetamin, 109 kg cocaine and four weapons during this action.
