Voice for Inclusion, Billonging, and Empowerment (Vibe) and Project Potential have prepared this report on the basis of survey of 4,972 youth.
The youth of India have been filled with patriotism, but they do not trust political parties and leaders.
According to the report of Voice for Inclusion, Billonging, and Empowerment (Vibe) and Project Potential, 81% of Indian youth have strong patriotism. Meaning they consider themselves as Indians first, but 31% attach more importance to personal identity.
The reason for not voting in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is said by 43% of the youth to get away from home. While 18% said that they do not trust political parties. The report revealed that Indian youth are gradually away from politics.
29% of the youth in the country are completely distance from politics. 26% participate in political discussions without connecting a party. Only 11% are members of a party.
This report prepared by Vibe has been prepared on the basis of survey of 4,972 youth. The survey has been conducted between June-August 2024.

Challenge for the government to live up to the expectations of the youth
Founder Rohit Kumar of NGO YLAC believes that youth participation needs institutional support. The biggest challenge for the government is to meet the aspirations of the youth. We have to prepare a platform where the youth can not only participate, but can become a part of the decision making process.

49% of young social workers want to start an enterprise, but 58% feel funding and 39% lack a lack of guidance.
Today’s youth are not bound by the ideology of parties
The report states that youths are giving priority to connection based on issues rather than traditional politics. They are more active on subjects like environment, gender equality, education, and unemployment. The youth of India are no longer voters, they want participation in policy-making.
