1. First Waves Summit starts in the country

Waves 2025 was organized to promote India’s media and entertainment industry globally. This is the first summit of its kind.

PM Modi inaugurated a four -day conference at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. Its theme is ‘Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries’.

Netflix, Amazon, Google, Meta, Adobe, Tata, Soni, Reliance, Yash Raj Films, Balaji Telefilms, Saregama and Jetthesis, Neural Garage, Free Stream Tech are also participating in Waves 2025.

2. Lieutenant Commander Divya Sharma became the country’s first qualified instructor

Lieutenant Commander Divya Sharma has become the first qualified instructor of the Indian Navy on 30 April. He is stationed at INS Utrosh located at Port Blair of Andaman and Nicobar (ANC) Command and is the Dornier Pilot of INS 318 Squadron. Dornier aircraft are equipped with petrol radars and are able to do long distance marine monitoring.

This recruitment will be in various refinery across the country. This includes Assam, Baruni (Bihar), Vadodara, Haldia, Mathura, Panipat and Paradip (Odisha).

1. NEET-OG Admit Card released

The National Testing Agency i.e. NTA has issued the admit card for its official website neet.nta.nic.in on May 1 for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test i.e. NEET-OG 2025. Candidates can download your admit card from the portal by visiting NTA’s official website neet.nta.nic.in.

To download the admit card, candidates will have to enter their login credentials generated at the time of registration.

UPSC has released 2025 exam schedule. In this, the dates of Indian Economic Service i.e. IES, Indian Statical Service i.e. ISS and Combined Medical Service i.e. CMS exam have been released. Candidates who want to appear in these exams can see the complete schedule on the official website upsc.gov.in.

UPSC announced a total of 47 vacancies for IES and ISS recruitment. It has 12 posts for IES and 35 posts for ISS. A total of 705 vacancies will be filled in various medical departments and institutions across the country under the CMS recruitment.

3. Lucknow University will provide free education to the dependents of Pahalgam attack

Alok Rai, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, announced that the university will provide free education, living facilities and books to the dependents of those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. Such students can take admission in Lucknow University. On 22 April, there was a terrorist attack in the Bisaran Valley of Pahalgam. 26 tourists were killed in this attack.
