Fought war before Test debut
This is the case of the 1940s, when Hemu officials had made a good identity in the cricket world even before the start of the Second World War. Remind you that in the year 1947, he was awarded the post of Lieutenant Colonel.
Hemu Adhikari made his Test debut in 1947 and despite some media reports, he continued to serve in the Indian Army. He has also played a memorable innings against Pakistan. In 1952, he scored an unbeaten 81 in the match against Pakistan and partnered a record 109 runs with Ghulam Ahmed for the 10th wicket.
