Playing tennis makes Alizé Cornet feel like a teenager again.

Turning back time with her comeback to tennis, the 35-year-old Frenchwoman says she won’t play Roland Garros in May.

Former world No. 11 Cornet is committed to competing at the WTA 125 in La Bisbal d’Emporda followed by next month’s WTA 250 tournament in Rouen.

“It’s a very special tournament for me because I haven’t played a lot of tennis in the last 10 months,” Cornet said. “Just the last two months, I got ready for this tournament and some others.

“But yeah, it feels very special and I like the area a lot, I think it’s very beautiful. It’s my first time in Costa Brava, so I hope I will have time to explore and enjoy the place.”

Ranked No. 532 ahead of her comeback, Cornet said the key to this comeback is enjoying herself and her time on court.

“I trained really hard to be ready for this tournament, for my comeback,” Cornet said. “And now my tennis is going very well, but I think the most important is that I enjoy my time on the court.

“I enjoy being on the court, smile all the time, I feel like a teenager. I hope I can have the same state of mind during my match.”

Cornet also plans to play qualifying for WTA 1000 events in Madrid and Rome.
