The Supreme Court said- State governments should take the newborn smuggling cases seriously.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded the UP government in a newborn trafficking case and issued some necessary rules for the states. The court said- If a newborn is smuggled from a hospital, its license should be canceled immediately. If the child disappears after delivery, the hospital will be accountable.
The bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R. Mahadevan said- All the High Courts across the country should ask for the state reports of pending cases related to the trafficking of children in their states. Complete the hearing of all cases within six months. The case should be heard every day.
In fact, the Supreme Court was hearing a newborn smuggling case in which a couple from Uttar Pradesh bought a child smuggled for Rs 4 lakh. Because they wanted a son. In this case, the Allahabad High Court granted anticipatory bail to the accused, which was canceled by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court said-

If you want a son, it does not mean that you buy stolen baby. The accused knew that the child was stolen, yet adopted it.

- High Court reprimanded: Such accused are a threat to the society. While giving the bell, at least it could be done that the accused would be conditioned to attend the police station every week. The police is no longer able to find the accused.
- Government reprimanded: We are very disappointed with the state government. Why was no appeal made? The seriousness was not shown.
- Negligence will be considered contempt: Any kind of negligence will be taken seriously. If this does not happen, it will be considered contempt of court.
