Barauli’s press conference on National Herald in Sonepat
In Sonepat, BJP state president Mohanlal Baroli held a press conference at his residence and made serious allegations against the Congress party in the National Herald case. He said that the Congress is frustrated and disappointed since the Narendra Modi government came to power for the third time.

He accused the Congress of misleading government agencies in the National Herald case and said that the Congress should face the truth.
Land was allocated at cheap prices in many cities
Barauli spoke on the history of the National Herald and said that it was started in 1937 by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru under the Associated Journal Limited (AGL). At that time, newspapers called National Herald in English, Navjivan in Hindi and Qaumi Awaaz in Urdu were published. He said that AGL had 5000 shareholders freedom fighters and land was allotted at cheap prices in many cities for publication of newspaper.
In 1956, AGL was established as a non-professional company and was taxed under Section 25 of the Companies Act. However, the company gradually went into losses and by 2008 it was loans of more than Rs 90 crore.
Badoli alleged that in 2010, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi entered the AGL group. He said that the Congress formed a company called Young India Limited (Y IL) for Rs 5 lakh, with Rahul Gandhi 76% and Sonia Gandhi was 38% stakeholders.
He alleged that AGL shares worth Rs 9 crore of Rs 10 crore were given to VIL and in return Young India had to repay the debt of Congress. Thus, Young India received 99% of AGL shares. He also alleged that the Congress waived a loan of Rs 90 crore on 26 February 2011, which was outstanding AGL.

Share transfer and legal dispute The BJP state president alleged that shares of AGL were transferred to Young India Limited without taking shareholders into confidence. Young India paid only Rs 50 lakh to get the rights of Rs 90.25 crore.
He said that the loan given to AGL was also illegal, as it was the money taken from the party’s fund. After the share transfer, former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan and several other shareholders alleged that Young India did not give any notice while transferring AGL and the shareholders were not agreed.
BJP retaliated over Congress’s protests Reversing the protests being carried out by the Congress after the ED’s charge sheet was filed by the ED in the National Herald case, Mohanlal Badoli said that the Congress should face the truth. He said that the Congress has the right to sit in democracy, but no one has the right to do corruption.
He alleged that the Congress is trying to escape the truth by giving political color to the truth. He said that the Congress has done a big game by misusing government properties and is now trying to cover up its scams by talking artificial on the action of ED.
