Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has spoken on the new talent in the industry. In the second edition of the CineaWest International Film Festival, he expressed his opinion on the advantages and losses of giving bets on new talents and giving opportunities to big names repeatedly.
Hansal said on casting new artists, there are many talent in the recent times but they are not being given a chance. In the name of Seepti, that path has been closed. How many times have the big names who are getting a chance repeatedly? What is the percentage of their success? When they fail, they actually immerse you. If you take the risk of casting new artists, then you will reduce the loss. And its benefits will be many.
Giving an example, the director said that in the 2000s there were studios like UTVs, who supported Newcomer. Supporting artists like Applause Entertainment Gandhi, Jahan Kapoor and Gagan Dev Riyal is doing something similar by making them successful. He recently wrote about this issue on social media platform X.
On Thursday, the South Korean film ‘A Normal Family’ started the CineaWest International Film Festival. It organized a session with film personalities like Vikramaditya Motwani, Nandita Das, Abhishek Chaubey and Honey Trehan.
