It’s nearly lights out in the 305. Formula 1 is returning to Miami for the fourth time, and the who’s who of the sports, entertainment, and business worlds will descend upon South Florida for star-studded soirées ahead of the May 4 race.
Lando Norris, who earned his long-awaited maiden victory at the Miami International Autodrome last year, will be hoping to defend his title. However, his teammate Oscar Piastri leads him by 10 points in the standings heading into the sixth round of the championship.
Away from the track, festivities include the launch of a new F1 team, the return of the starry Carbone Beach party, and opportunities for fans to meet the likes of Norris and Carlos Sainz. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s happening across the Grand Prix weekend.

The $3000-a-head supper club on the sand, hosted by the ultra-exclusive Italian eatery, returns to Miami Beach. Major Food Group, the creative force behind the celebrity-loved haunt, has once again joined forces with American Express for the ritzy fête.
The party has been attended by the likes of LeBron James, David Beckham, Venus and Serena Williams, Jamie Foxx and a handful of F1 drivers, including Pierre Gasly. Last year, Norris celebrated his win at the starry bash, where he was seen chatting to Kansas City Chiefs star, Travis Kelce.

WhatsApp will celebrate the launch of a new documentary – produced by Netflix in conjunction with the private messaging app – which offers a glimpse inside Kimi Antonelli’s rapid rise to the pinnacle of motorsport. ‘The Seat’ will provide a look into the private WhatsApp calls and chats that led to a once-in-a-generation driver change following Lewis Hamilton’ exit.
The 18-year-old Italian, who became the third-youngest rookie in the sport’s history when he joined the grid, will celebrate the release of the 45-minute documentary at an exclusive premiere party this weekend. It comes a few months after WhatsApp released their first short film starring Hamilton during the US Grand Prix
The F1 movie goes ‘into the APEX’

The countdown to the F1 movie is on. The film’s stars Kerry Condon and Simone Ashley, along with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, will join Toto Wolff and George Russell for a discussion about how the worlds of racing and filmmaking collided to create the hotly-anticipated flick. The event will also celebrate IWC Schaffhausen’s partnership with the film, as a sponsor of the fictional APXGP team.
Mercedes was heavily involved in the film’s production, and even created the modified F2 cars that were used for filming. As such, several Mercedes sponsors, like the luxury watchmaker, are getting some serious bang for their buck by appearing on the race suits worn by Brad Pitt and Damson Idris.
Cadillac arrives in Formula 1
Cadillac is rolling out the red carpet in Miami. The American car manufacturer is still nine months away from becoming the 11th entry on the F1 grid, however the team is set to host a global launch this week. Guests will get an exclusive first look at the new team’s branding during an intimate and immersive celebration, which will include speeches from the team’s executives. Expect stars of the sporting world and Hollywood A-listers to be in attendance.

If you’re willing to splash some cash on perfume and construction supplies, you might be able to meet Norris and Sainz. The McLaren driver will be appearing at Macy’s Aventura for a Q&A on April 29. Fans who spend $330 on Ralph Lauren fragrance may be given the opportunity to meet Norris in-store.
Meanwhile, the Spaniard is joining Williams sponsor Duracell at Home Depot (3401 Oakwood Blvd) on April 30. The first 75 fans who show same-day proof of purchase will get to meet him.
