Kannada actress Ranya Rao was arrested on 3 March at Kempagowda International Airport in Bengaluru. He got gold worth Rs 12.56 crore.
In the Karnataka Gold Smuggling case, Kannada actress Ranya Rao has described the person of the person found at Dubai Airport. This person gave him gold, whom he was arrested at Bangalore Campagowda International Airport.
During interrogation, the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) said the 33 -year -old actress said that she had received an internet call. He was instructed to meet a person near the Espresso Machine at the Dining Lounge of Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport on the call.
She was told that the man he was going to meet was wearing Arabia’s dress or ‘Kandura’. Ranya Rao told that the man with whom he met was good. He was more than 6 feet tall. The African-American accent and wheat was of color.
Ranya told that when she met the man, she had a very small conversation. After this, the man gave two packets wrapped in thick plastic, which had gold. Ranya claimed that this was the first time she was smuggling gold.
Constable claims- Ranya’s DGP father helped A constable, who helped Ranya, claimed that DGP of Karnataka and Ramchandra Rao, the stepfather of Ranya, ordered him to be taken out of the airport under the protocol.
Three agencies are investigating against Ranya Apart from Dri, CBI and now ED are also investigating against Ranya. On Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a money laundering case against the Kannada actor. On the other hand, the Karnataka government ordered an inquiry against Ranya’s stepfather. However, it was withdrawn after some time.
Ranya’s friend Tarun Raju in 15 days judicial custody Tarun Raju has been sent to judicial custody for 15 days at the request of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in the Gold Smugging case. Tarun Raju is a friend of the actress. It is alleged that he also used to support in smuggling.
Ranya is in judicial custody till 24 March Ranya Rao was produced in the Special Court on 11 March. The court has sent him to judicial custody till 24 March. Ranya accused DRI of harassment in court. She started crying in court. Ranya said- ‘I am in shock and is emotionally broken.’
