The Gaddi culture of Himachal Pradesh has been recognized globally in the prestigious Hander Fashion Conference 2024 held in London. Tanishvi Thakur, daughter of Rajaur village in Bharmour in Chamba district, presented her research letter on traditional dress of Gaddi bride in this conference

In his research, Tanishvi worked on the theme “Development of the traditional dress of the Gaddi bride: globalization and cultural integration”. The selection of Tanishvi is a special achievement among the researchers selected from all over the world.

Daughter of singer and retired Chief Engineer

Tanishvi is the daughter of the famous ‘Khinnu’ song singer and retired Chief Engineer Rumel Singh. He has graduated in fashion designing from NIFT Kangra and a master’s degree from NIFT Mumbai. He is currently a visiting professor at Ahmedabad University.

His research paper will be published in a prestigious international research journal in 2025. Tanishvi believes that pothic costumes and traditions are an important part of the rich cultural heritage of the Himachali community.
