It feels like something is in the air with so many bands announcing departures of members, and Guns N’ Roses were unable to escape the sweeping wind. Their longtime drummer, Frank Ferrer, announced his departure through Guns N’ Roses Instagram on Wednesday.
The Guns N’ Roses post thanked Ferrer for “the friendship, creativity, and sturdy presence,” over the last 19 years.
Frank Ferrer spoke out about his departure yesterday, Friday, with a heartfelt note to his own Instagram page. The post reads:
“The outpouring of love I have felt from the incredible fans of Guns N’ Roses and my peers over the past 24 hours has been tremendous.
I will have immense gratitude and love always for Axl and the band while at the same time, disappointment that this chapter came to an end.
It has been an incredible 19 years. Guns N’ Roses has given me life-changing memories and experiences.
A huge thanks to management, the crew, and fans for giving me memories that I will cherish for my lifetime.
I hope I see you all again soon!
Frank Ferrer“
Even though Ferrer first joined the band in 2006, he only was responsible for about a dozen of the drum tracks in Guns N’ Roses catalogue.
