The Telangana police registered a case against 25 celebrities and Influencers including Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda and Rana Daggubati on 19 March. All are accused of promoting illegal batting apps and misleading people.
Telangana police have registered a case against several actors including Rana Daggubati, Vijay Devarakonda, Prakash Raj, Manchu Lakshmi and Nidhi Aggarwal.

According to the ANI report, the Miyapur police in Sibrabad has registered a case on the complaint of 32 -year -old businessman Phanindra Sarma. The complainant accused all these artists of promoting the batting apps and misleading the public. It is alleged that promoting betting in this way is against the public gambling law of 1867. Among them are 6 big actors of South Cinema.
Celebs charge a hefty fee to promote apps. Seeing them, the youth are also attracted to betting and put their hard earned money in it.
The FIR also includes sections related to promoting illegal betting activities. The officer of which is now being investigated.

Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna is an actor and producer in the Telugu film industry. Apart from this, she has also worked in American television. Manchu Lakshmi is the daughter of Telugu industry famous actor Mohan Babu.
A case was also registered against these artists
A few days ago, the Panjagutta police also registered a case against 11 film industry actors and influencers. All these were also accused of promoting batting apps. These actors had registered cases against 11 artists including Kiran Gaur, Vishnu Priya, Shyamala, Imran Khan, Ritu Chaudhary, Harsh Sai, Tasti Teja and Bandaru Seshayani Supita.
These celebs are caught on promoting betting app
Earlier in the year 2024, Maharashtra Cyber Cell sent summons to Sanjay Dutt and Tamannaah Bhatia. The case was related to promoting an IPL match on the fairplay app related to online gaming and betting app in 2023.
