Kangana Ranot’s film ‘Emergency’ is once again in legal controversies. Now senior journalist and writer Kumi Kapoor has filed a case against the filmmakers regarding this film. It is alleged that the film has been shown to be distorted in the film.
According to PTI, Kumi Kapoor has accused Kangana’s production company Manikarnika Films Private Limited and streaming platform Netflix of misusing her book and name. He has also accused of changing historical facts in the film.

‘The Emergency: A Personal History’ writer Kumi Kapoor says that she signed a contract with ‘Manikarnika Films’ and ‘Penguin Random House’, allowing her book to be converted into a feature film. However, he now alleges that the agreement has been violated.
According to the agreement, filmmakers had the right to creative adoptation from content. Apart from this, Kapoor added two important conditions in this agreement on legal advice. It was clear in it that filmmakers have complete freedom to make a film, but there should be no change in it, which is contrary to the publicly available historical facts. ‘
According to Kapoor, ‘It was also said in the agreement that the writer and book name would not be used without permission from the film’s promotion or earnings. But this did not happen. He claims that the film is based on the book.

Along with this, Kapoor also told that the filmmakers did not respond to the legal notice sent on 3 April. They have filed a case for receiving no response from Kangana’s team or Netflix.
According to the notice, Kapoor has demanded immediate compensation to compensate for the loss of personal reputation, professional, emotional and financial level due to the careless and illegal behavior of the filmmakers.
