The Election Commission currently has a link to 66 crore voters’ Aadhaar numbers.
The Election Commission (ECI) is going to do a big exercise at the national level to make the voters list clean and tidy. For this, it has been agreed to connect the voter ID card with Aadhaar, but to fulfill its condition, it is necessary to know the reason from the voters who have not yet given their Aadhaar number for voter registration.
The Commission has so far been linked to the Aadhaar Number (Electors Photo Identity Card Number) of 66 crore voters, but still the Aadhaar of about 22 crore voters is not available. The result of this is that the process of eliminating duplication from the voter list on the base of Aadhaar has not started.
According to sources, it is planned to reach voters to eliminate duplicate from voter lists. In this, booth level officers will be activated, who will go to the voters’ house.
During this time it will be ascertained that if the epic number is linked to Aadhaar, then why not confirm it? If the link is not done then the reason will be known.
The booth level officer (BLO) will share his contact number with voters. This comprehensive campaign to reach voters will be run parallel to the assembly elections. In the state where elections are coming, this process will be completed on priority.
BLO will contact voters in the election to be held in Bihar later this year. Voters from West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala plans to contact the next year.

In the 2014 and 2018 elections, the names of millions of duplicate voters were revealed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to an estimate, there were more than 2 million duplicate names in Telangana. It is difficult to hold a fair election without stopping it.
7.80 crore of Bihar in the next 20 months, p. 7.57 crore in Bengal, 2.45 crore in Assam, 2.77 crore in Kerala and 6.23 crore in Tamil Nadu will reach the BLO of the Commission. Because, Bihar assembly elections are due in October-November this year.
Due to starting campaign
Assembly elections will be held in West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in May next year. The Election Commission started this campaign of verification and contact of voters for these reasons.
- Political parties complain of adding voters on a large scale, but there is a huge gap in the appeal and second appeal figures.
- According to sources, there were allegations of adding 39 lakh new voters in Maharashtra, but 89 complaints were filed at the level of district election officers. Only one complaint arrived at the level of the Chief Electoral Officer.
- The truth of those allegations will also be revealed that many voters were registered at the same address. Booth level officers will be able to communicate directly with voters.
- 10.49 lakh BLOs of the Election Commission will also communicate with about 13 lakh 87 lakh booth level agents of political parties.
