Terminal 1 has been newly developed, it has better facilities for passengers.
There has been a major change in the operation of domestic flights on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). All domestic flights of IndiGo and Akasa Air will now be operated from Terminal-1 (T1) from Tuesday (April 15).
Till now both these airlines were operating flights from Terminal-2 (T2). Terminal 2 is closed for Constructions. The T2 currently operates around 270-280 flights daily and serves more than 46,000 passengers. T1 has been developed new, it has better facilities for passengers.
Delhi Airport is the largest and busy airport in the country, which have three terminals (T1, T2, T3) and four runways. So far T1 and T2 are used only for domestic flights.

T1 Terminal now completely on
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) had already announced that the new extended Terminal-1 (T1) is now completely operational and passengers will get world-class facilities in it. The T1 can now handle all the flights of Indigo and Akasa Air.
IndiGo said on Monday that the passengers are being contacted via SMS, calls and emails to inform passengers about the terminal changes. The airline has advised passengers to check the PNR number on the website or mobile app before their journey, so that they can get the correct terminal information.
At the same time, Akasa Air has also shared information on social media that all its flights will run from Terminal-1 D from April 15. The airline said that their teams are engaged in ensuring that this change is smooth and troublesome for the passengers.

Better facilities for passengers in T1 Terminal
Civil Aviation Secretary Vumalunmung Wulanam said on Monday that Terminal-1 and Terminal-3 together can handle passengers and the closure of T2 will not cause any inconvenience to the passengers.

Flaws at Delhi Airport due to dust storm: more than 450 flights delayed, 18 canceled
