PIL was filed to stop oath On April 2, a PIL was filed on behalf of Vikas Chaturvedi in the Lucknow bench of the High Court. In which it was demanded that the Chief Justice should be directed that Justice Yashwant Verma, who came through transfer from Delhi High Court, should not be sworn in as a judge in the Allahabad High Court. The petition is currently not listed for hearing.
Petitioner’s lawyer challenged notification According to media reports, his lawyer Ashok Pandey argues that the judge himself has said that he should not be given judicial work until the investigation is completed in the cash scandal, how can he be sworn in as a judge. The petitioner has also challenged the notification issued by the Central Government on March 28, in which the Central Government accepted the Supreme Court recommendation in which Justice Verma was asked to transfer the Allahabad High Court from the Delhi High Court.
