Jawan Munir, who was dismissed from CRPF, married Pakistani Meenal on 24 May 2024 through video conferencing.
Munir Ahmed has given his clarification on CRPF job on charges of hiding a Pakistani woman.
In an interview to ANI, he said- in 2022, the department sought permission to marry, but was delayed. After this, on 24 May 2024, he got married to Pakistani Meenal through video conferencing.
Munir said- The marriage was also told to the officials. He was also given all the necessary documents. In which there was information related to the wedding card, wedding place and wife’s visa.
Actually, on 3 May 2025, CRPF dismissed Munir Ahmed from his job. CRPF had said- Munir hid the marriage of a Pakistani woman, illegally kept her in India without a visa, it is against the national security.
Pakistani citizens were asked to leave India after the Pahalgam terror attack. On April 30, Meenal was also taken to the Attari border, but after legal intervention, his depotation was banned.

Meenal is my maternal uncle’s daughter. Before the Indo-Pak partition, my and his family lived in Jammu and Kashmir. Currently Meenal’s family lives in Sialkot, Pakistan. The relationship of both of us was decided in childhood.
On 31 December 2022, I wrote to the letters associated with the wedding permission. On 24 January 2023, the authorities returned my letter with some objections, in which information like wedding card, marriage was sought.
After this, I sent the letter back to the 72nd battalion of CRPF present in Sunderban and added other information and returned the letter. He also met the Commandant Saheb.
My letter went to DIG Jammu Range, CRPF range IG, J&K Zone SDG, CRPF Delhi. After about 5 months I got reply. In which it was written that ‘the applicant has informed the department’.
My father is a cancer patient, on the other hand there was a delay in getting the letter of the department, Meenal was also not getting a visa. Due to this, both families got married on 24 May 2024 through video conferencing.
After about 9-10 months, Meenal received India’s visit visa. She came to India on 28 February 2025. I informed the department about this. The deputy commandant was also told.
Before marriage and even after marriage, I gave complete information related to Meenal and marriage. Wedding photos, wedding cards were also given. The department was also informed from time to time.
One has to apply for long term visas within 15 days of getting a visit visa. We applied that. During this time our field verification for LTV was done.
On 13 March, FRO interviewed in Jammu. There said that Gaya is being carried forward. Meenal can stay in India in LTV.
The picture is on 30 May. Meenal Khan was prohibited from being deployed to Pakistan.
Meenal had said- we are innocent, no relation with terror Meenal was being taken to the Pakistan Deputy on 30 April. At that time Meenal had said- We all condemn the terrorist attack, but where is justice to punish innocent people.
He had said that I had applied on time to increase the visa. We were told that the approval would be received, but now we are being separated by the husband and wife. Many children are being separated from parents. It is inhuman.
Meenal had also pleaded for justice to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that it is not right to punish innocent people in the name of terrorism.
