The renovation work is going on these days in the President’s residence ‘The Retreat’ located in Chhabra, Himachal Pradesh. Former Shimla Deputy Mayor Tikendra Singh Panwar has objected to the renovation work and complained to President Draupadi Murmu.

Tikendra has sent a letter and some photos to the President to the President, it said that the renovation work in ‘The Retreat’ is disappointed to see the renovation work going on. He said that steel structure is being erected near the main gate of the retreat, it is disturbing.
He said that 185 years ago, setting up a steel structure with a historic building of girl and stone retreat would disrupt its beauty and harmony. This will also reduce the historical significance of the retreat and also damage the environment.

Tikendra further wrote that even in internal renovation work inside the retreat, heritage standards were not followed. The use of white instead of traditional wood polish weakens the internal character of the building.
