The local organization of Puri, Shri Jagannath Sena, has filed a complaint against Hema Malini. The complaint at Singhdwar police station alleges that Hema Malini has violated religious rules. The organization has alleged that Hema Malini’s husband Dharmendra converted to Islam to marry him and he is also married to Muslim customs, so his entering the temple has hurt Hindu sentiments.

Hema also thanked him for getting an opportunity to celebrate Holi at this place.
The complainant has said that Hema Malini and Dharmendra were married on 21 August 1979 by Maulana Qazi Abdullah Faizabadi of Mumbai. Dharmendra first married Prakash Kaur, making them 4 children. Under the Hindu Law Act 1955, no Hindu is allowed to perform two marriages, so Dharmendra adopted Islam to get married by Dharmendra. Dharmendra took his name Dilawar Khan only Krishna and Hema Malini made Ayesha Biwi R. Chakravarti. The couple have two daughters Isha and Ahana from this marriage.

The first wife did not divorce, so Dharmendra adopted Islam
Dharmendra had an arranged marriage with Prakash Kaur at the age of just 19 before appearing in films. The four children of the couple were Ajay (Sunny Deol), Vijay (Bobby Deol), the winner and invincible.
After appearing in films, Dharmendra’s Khwaja Abbas’s film took place in the premiere of Aashman Mahal in 1965. After this, both got a chance to work together in many films. After a long friendship, the two came close on the set of the film Sholay.
Dharmendra wanted to marry Hema Malini by divorcing his first wife Prakash Kaur, although his wife refused to divorce. In such a situation, Dharmendra made Hema the second wife with Islamic customs.
