Researchers said in the Chinese Journal of Projectals, Rockets, Missiles and Guidance that when it is activated, magnesium hydride undergoes rapid thermal decomposition, leading to hydrogen gas that leads to frequent fire. The team led by CSSC Research Scientist Wang ZuFeng said, “Hydrogen gas explosions ignite with new ignition energy, their explosion area is widespread. Also their flames spread rapidly. These combination explosions keep the intensity of explosion accurately, which can easily destroy the target in a large area.
This bomb has the ability to melt aluminum
This hydrogen bomb can do thermal damage for a long time because it produces too much heat. The white hot fireball produced by it has the ability to melt up to aluminum. This is more dangerous than the TNT blast, because the fire ball of TNT lasts for 0.12 seconds, so this hydrogen bomb remained a fireball for 2 seconds. Scientists claim that it can be used to produce heat in large areas or destroy a special target. However, it has not been clear yet under which circumstances the Chinese army can deploy this weapon.
