China dream project in pakistan: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) attacks in Pakistan have stopped major projects of China. Especially Chinese investment in Balochistan is suffering heavy losses. According to reports, Beijing called the Ambassador of Islamabad and directed to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
After the meeting in Beijing, Pakistani Ambassador Khalil Hashmi said that Pakistan is making every effort to protect Chinese citizens. He also informed that talks are going on between the two countries regarding the security strategy.
Why did the attacks on Chinese citizens increase in Pakistan?
Actually, BLA is constantly targeting Chinese citizens and projects. Two Chinese citizens died in a suicide attack in Karachi in November last year. BLA is intensifying attacks against CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor). Despite China’s huge investment, CPEC is not getting the expected benefits.
China reprimanded Pakistani government
China has decided to stop its projects in Balochistan. Beijing expressed displeasure over Pakistan’s failure to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens. The situation became so serious that in February, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had to go to Beijing. He met Xi Jinping and assured strict security arrangements, but Pakistan could not succeed in stopping BLA’s attacks.
CPEC: Loss deal for China and Pakistan?
Let us know that China invested more than $ 50 billion in CPEC, but the project came to a standstill due to insecurity. BLA claims that they will never let CPEC succeed. China fears that its citizens and projects will continue to be targeted. CPEC was an important economic plan for Pakistan, which is now engulfed in controversies.
What will happen next?
Reports say that BLA’s attacks may increase further, which can lead to further danger of China. China has made it clear that if Pakistan fails in the security of Chinese citizens, the CPEC project can be completely closed.
