Byzantine is back for the first time in eight years with a new record Harbingers due out June 13, and a new groovy single “Floating Chrysanthema” streaming right now! If you’re unfamiliar with Byzantine and their awesome career in groove-heavy metalcore, this single should be a great introduction.
“After 25 years of riding the struggle bus, we’re ready to show the rock and metal world what we’re truly about,” said Byzantine vocalist Chris Ojeda. “We’ve put all our chips on the table with Harbingers.”
On the single, Ojeda added: “Our bassist Ryan brought this song to the band, and we thought it hit like a sledgehammer – making it the perfect introduction to our new music.”
Harbingers was produced by Peter Wichers (Soilwork, All That Remains, Nevermore) and features artwork by mixed-media artist Ashley Hoey that depicts Irene of Athens – the mother of Emperor Constantine and the first female empress of the Byzantine Empire.
Byzantine in 2025 is Ojeda, guitarists Brian Henderson and Tony Rohrbough, bassist Ryan Poslethwait, and drummer Matt Bowles. Pre-orders for Harbingers are available here.
