The West Material has caught fire inside the campus near Gate No. 9 of BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) in Bhopal. It is being told that there is a blast in the oil tanks inside. Thousands of trees and plants were hit by fire.

The smoke rising from the campus is visible from 15 km away. Flames are rising up to 20 feet high. So far, BHEL officials are denying information about any loss. Hearing in Supreme Court on 6 and 7 May, Gujarat government and other convicts filed a petition on the Godhra incident

The Supreme Court will start a final hearing on the petitions of the Gujarat government and the culprits on 6 and 7 May in the 2002 Godhra train fire case on Thursday. Justice J.K. The bench of Maheshwari and Justice Rajesh Bindal said that the hearing of the case will take at least two weeks. It will be heard throughout the day on 6 and 7 May. During this time, no other case will be heard until the court is specially said.

On February 27, 2002, 59 people were killed in arson of arson in the S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express in Godhra, Gujarat, after which riots were provoked in the state. Many appeals have been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the Gujarat High Court’s October 2017 verdict. In which the sentence of many convicts was upheld and the death sentence of 11 people was converted into life imprisonment. The Gujarat government said in February 2023 that it would demand the death penalty for the 11 convicts whose sentence was converted into life imprisonment by the High Court.

1984 Sikh riot case hearing postponed till 9 May; Sajjan Kumar was life imprisonment on 26 February

The Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the case till 9 May in the 1984 anti -Sikh case on the defense and the Joint appeal of the CBI till 9 May. Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar was produced in the court in this case.

The court sentenced Sajjan Kumar to life imprisonment for the murder of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh at Saraswati Vihar in Delhi during anti -Sikh riots on 26 February. The gentleman was then an MP from the outer Delhi Lok Sabha seat.

The aggrieved side demanded him to be sentenced to death. Sajjan Kumar was convicted on 12 February. The court reserved the verdict on the sentence on 21 February. They are currently lodged in Tihar Jail in another case related to riots and are serving life imprisonment.
