Katy Perry is accompanied by Blue Original owner Jeff Bezos’ fiancé Lauren Sanchez, TV presenter Gayle King, human rights activist Amanda Guayen, filmmaker Carian Flynn and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Boway.
Blue Origin rocket will be launched from Texas at 8:30 am local time in the US. This is the first time in the last 60 years that when a space mission will fly without any man. Earlier in 1963, Russian engineer Valentina Tereshkova traveled to space alone.
The new Shepard rocket of Blue Origin carrying Perry and others will reach a maximum height of 100 km (62 mi) from the Earth. It will cross the Karman line, which is recognized internationally as a limit of space.
While in space, all these women will be in zero gravity for about 4 minutes. After this, the capsule will come back to the earth with the help of three parachutes. Bezos’ fiance and writer Sanchez is leading this mission.
