The ammunition, including 16 weapons looted in the Manipur violence, handed over the Assam Rifles on Saturday. Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla had appealed to all communities to hand over police weapons and illegal weapons within seven days.
The Assam Rifles then contacted the police, CRPF, state intelligence agencies and administration leaders of the zomi and cookie community. The conversation was successful and they were released to hand over a large amount of weapons and ammunition. The leaders handed over the local population to the security forces in Tuibong village in Churachandpur district.
It includes one M-16 rifle, a 7.62 mm SLR, two AK Rifles, three INSAS Rifles, two M-79 40 mm Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), a 9 mm carbine machine gun, a 51 mm mortar, three .303 rifle , Two single barrel rifles, 64 rods of gelatin, 60 mm pumps (Improvised mortar) 10 rounds of ammunition, 17 rounds of AK rifle, 40 rounds of 5.56 mm rifle and 9 mm caliber rounds.

Bus fell into a ditch in Jammu, driver dies, 16 passengers injured
A bus filled with pilgrims going from Katra to Delhi in Jammu crashed. According to media reports, the driver died and 16 passengers were injured in the accident. Police and rescue team reached the spot soon after the accident. The injured have been admitted to GMC Hospital.
