AVONDALE, Ariz. — Making a rare NASCAR Xfinity Series start, Alex Bowman will start Saturday afternoon’s GOVX 200 at Phoenix Raceway from the pole.
Driving the Hendrick Motorsports No. 17 Chevrolet, Bowman turned a lap of 27.276 seconds at 131.984 mph on the one-mile race track.
It was Bowman’s fourth Xfinity Series pole in 57 career starts.
Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota driver Sheldon Creed will share the front row.
JR Motorsports Chevrolet drivers Sammy Smith and Connor Zilisch share the second row, while Richard Childress Racing’s Jesse Love starts fifth in another Chevrolet.
