Today all the MLAs made are ministers are from BJP. Of these, 3 are from backward, 2 extremely backward and 2 from upper caste community.
This is the third expansion of the NDA government in 13 months in the state. There are now 36 ministers in the Nitish government. Among them, BJP is 21, 13 of JDU, rest one from Hum and one Independent.
Darbhanga MLA Sanjay Saraogi first takes oath
BJP MLA Sanjay Saraogi from Darbhanga was first sworn in. This was followed by Sunil Kumar (Bihar Sharif), Jeevesh Mishra (Jale), Raju Singh (Sahebganj), Motilal Prasad (Riga), Krishna Kumar alias Mantu (Amanore), Vijay Mandal (Sikti).
Mithilanchal NDA stronghold, 30% MLA of alliance from here
Bihar has a total of 243 seats. NDA has 131 seats. 40 of these seats are from Mithilanchal. Therefore Mithilanchal is called the stronghold of NDA. There are 60 seats in 6 districts of Mithilanchal (Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali). The NDA got 40 seats from here in the 2020 assembly elections. In view of the upcoming elections, 4 MLAs have been made ministers from here.
Kedar Prasad Gupta and MLC Hari Sahni are already ministers from Kudhani in Mithilanchal in the cabinet. Accordingly, 6 ministers in the cabinet have become Mithilanchal.
