The Nitish cabinet expanded on Wednesday, 7 months before the assembly elections to be held in Bihar in Bihar. 7 MLAs were sworn in as ministers. 4 of these are from Mithilanchal area. Together they have now become 6 ministers from Mithilanchal.

Bihar has a total of 243 seats. NDA has 131 seats. 40 of these seats are from Mithilanchal. Therefore Mithilanchal is called the stronghold of NDA. There are 60 seats in 6 districts of Mithilanchal (Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali). The NDA got 40 seats from here in the 2020 assembly elections. In view of the upcoming elections, 4 MLAs have been made ministers from here.

Kedar Prasad Gupta and MLC Hari Sahni are already ministers from Kudhani in Mithilanchal in the cabinet. Accordingly, 6 ministers in the cabinet have become Mithilanchal.
