At around 8 am, the ED team arrived in four vehicles at Bhupesh and his son Chaitanya’s house in Bhilai-3 Padumnagar. Now tomorrow the Congress will burn effigies of BJP and ED in protest against the action of ED across the state.
Bhupesh Baghel told what happened in a series-
I was reading the newspaper and drinking tea, then the ED team came. I told him that, he is welcome. I had been waiting for him for months and years. My wife, three daughters, son, daughter -in -law, grandchildren and grandson live here. We do farming.
In this joint family we cultivate 140 acres of land. We had what we declared. They investigated it. 33 lakh rupees in cash from different people, my wife, son, daughter-in-law and daughters. We also cultivate and run dairy. It also includes Stree Dhan.
Such an atmosphere was created that the machines that counted the note were brought, I do not think it is a huge amount. It is clear that now it has become a crime to ask questions in the assembly. Kavasi Lakhma asked questions and the ED was at his residence within 8 o’clock, he was jailed within 8 days. I asked Vijay Sharma about the housing for the poor. During the investigation, a large number of Congress workers and supporters were present outside the house of Bhupesh Baghel in Padumnagar, Bhilai. According to Congress workers, the state’s home minister is surrounded by questions, not able to answer questions in the assembly. Therefore, Bhupesh is misusing ED against Baghel.

Now understand what is the liquor scam of Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh is investigating the ED in the liquor scam case. ED has lodged an FIR in ACB. In the lodged FIR, there is talk of scam of more than 2 thousand crore rupees. The ED in its investigation found that the scam was carried out through the syndicate of IAS officer Anil Tuteja, MD AP Tripathi of Excise Department and businessman Anwar Dhebar during the tenure of the then Bhupesh government.
A, B and C scam by divided into categories
A: Commission from distillery operators
- In 2019, distillery operators were charged Rs 75 per box and Rs 100 in later years. The distillery operators should not be damaged in paying commission, so liquor prices were increased in the new tender. Also, relief was given to over billing to purchase goods in the firm.
B: Selling fake hologram liquor from government shops
- Made more alcohol than the distillery owner. Selling was done from government shops by installing fake holograms. It is easy to get fake holograms, so the Hologram supplier Vidhu Gupta was also contacted through AP Tripathi. Along with the hologram, an empty bottle of alcohol was needed. Arvind Singh and his nephew Amit Singh were given the responsibility of delivering the empty bottle distillery.
- Apart from delivering the empty bottle, Arvind Singh and Amit Singh also got the responsibility of transporting liquor with fake holograms. AP Tripathi was given the responsibility of Syndicate’s Core Group to AP Tripathi to involve the shop working in the shop and involve the excise officers.
- 15 districts of the state were selected to sell liquor. The record of consumption of liquor was given to the shop operators for not offering it on government papers. Duplicate hologram liquor was transported to shops without paying charges. The members of its MRP Syndicate initially kept Rs 2880 per box. When their consumption started, the members of the syndicate made it priced at Rs 3840.
- The distillery owners were initially given Rs 560 per box for supply of liquor, which was later reduced to Rs 600. The ACB has found evidence during the investigation that the members of the syndicate have sold more than 40 lakh boxes of liquor with the connivance of shop employees and excise officers.
C: To raise illegal funds by less/less to the supply area of distilleries
- Syndicate was divided into 8 zones by the supply area of distilleries to sell indigenous liquor from CSMCL shops. The zone of every distillery was determined in these 8 zones. In 2019, the new supply zone in the tender on behalf of Syndicate was determined on the basis of commission every year.
- AP Tripathi had provided analysis to the syndicate as per zone of liquor sales, so that the area could be collected less and less money. After doing this process, he started taking commission from syndicate distillery.
- Evow officials have found evidence during the investigation that the distilleries have given Rs 52 crore to the syndicate as part C for supply of indigenous liquor in three financial years.
