The Punjab government has recorded the most monthly Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in the history of the state so far. In April 2025, the state collected GST of Rs 2654 crore, which is a record collection in any one month.

Bounce came from month to month
- In March 2025, the state collected a GST of ₹ 2027 crore.
- In April, this figure increased by Rs 627 crore to a jump of 30.93% to reach ₹ 2654 crore.
- These figures show that economic activities in Punjab have gained momentum.
Result of government’s strictness and transparency
According to the Punjab government, his achievement is a direct result of honest policy, transparent administration and improvement in tax system. Constant efforts and restoration of confidence in business environment have made this tremendous increase in the revenue of the state.
With this historical collection, the government will get better financial basis for social schemes, infrastructure and employment sector.
