Yunus said that India’s North East state is land locked. They do not have a way to reach the sea.
Muhammad Yunus, the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, has described seven northeastern states of India as land lock (surrounded by land). He said that Bangladesh is the only guardian (patron) of the sea of the entire region of that northeastern states.
Mohammad Yunus recently arrived on a four -day official visit to China. Here he invited China to invest in Bangladesh.
Yunus said that the North East states of India, called Seven Sisters, are land locked. They do not have a way to reach the sea. Bangladesh is the only sea guardian in that region. This gives a big opportunity to invest.
Member of PM Modi’s Economic Advisory Council objected Economists and members of Prime Minister Modi’s Economic Advisory Council, Sanjeev Sanyal Mohammad Yunus, raised questions, objecting to this statement.
Sanjeev Sanyal said that China is free to invest in Bangladesh, but the appeal made by Yunus to be locked in the northeastern states of India is surprising.
Yunus said- the opportunity should be fully used Yunus said that the Chinese economy can expand here- things can be made, produced and sold in this area. It is a production house, we should use this opportunity.
India is running several projects to increase connectivity in Northeast Yunus’s statement has completely ignored the fact that India is investing hugely to increase connectivity in North under its Act East Policy. In this, Kaladan is promoting connectivity through projects like multi-modal transit transport project.
Along with this, the road network connecting Northeast India to Myanmar and South-East Asia is constructing.
Yunus’s statement is also surprising because there is a Siligudi Corridor in Northeast India. Which is considered to be the chicken noble of India. This corridor associates 7 states of North-East with India with 60 km long and 22 km wide. India is very vigilant about the security of its area.
Yunus reached China on a four -day journey Yunus arrived on a four -day visit to China on Wednesday. On Friday, he met Chinese President Xi Jinping. On this occasion, Jinping assured the interim government of Bangladesh to give its support.
Jinping said that on the basis of mutual confidence, China will remain a good neighbor, good friend and good partner of Bangladesh.
The two leaders signed nine agreements. Among them, an agreement on economic and technical cooperation and eight were on Memorandum (MUS). These agreements are associated with translation and publication of ancient texts, cultural heritage, news exchange, media, sports and cooperation in the fields.
There was a meeting between Muhammad Yunus and Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of Beijing.
