Bangladesh on transnocence facility: India has discontinued the transmission facility required for export cargo of Bangladesh. On the matter, Supardeep Chakma, advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, said that he is seeing it not as a challenge but as an opportunity. At the same time, the Government Commerce Advisor S.K. Bashir says that due to withdrawal of this facility, there has been a huge negative economic impact.
Talking to news agency ANI, Supardeep Chakma said that this blockage will not hinder the export of our products. He said, “Bangladesh can develop its cox market or Chittagong Airport Air Transportation or Dhaka Airport can also be developed. We have many ways to cross Indian obstacles.”

According to Bangladesh’s website Daily Sun, the Commerce Advisor on the case said, after withdrawing the transmission facility, Bangladesh can see an increase of 2,000 million taka in the cost of exporting goods to Nepal, Bhutan and Myanmar through Indian Land Roots. However, he said that the government is taking the right steps to neutralize negative effects through air freight and other means.
He claimed that the idea was made to find a way as an alternative to Indian land routes. He said that his new role as advisor to civil aviation affairs will help him to implement plans to eliminate dependence on Indian land.
What is the matter?
In June 2020, India allowed Bangladesh to use its land custom stations (LCS) for transpiration of export cargo for third countries including Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar, which has now been closed. This feature was designed to reduce Bangladesh’s trade and reduce logistics costs, especially for readymade garment (RMG) field. Under this, cargo could be carried through Indian borders and sent from Indian ports or airports, which greatly benefited Bangladeshi exporters.
