Auto sector giant Bajaj has recorded record sales in Maharashtra on the same day on the occasion of Gudi Padwa, a spring festival. The company said 26,938 vehicles were sold in Maharashtra on the day of Gudi Padwa, including motorcycles and its electric scooter Chetak.
According to the company’s data, on March 28, the company broke all the records of sales in the state on the celebration of the new year of Maharashtra. According to estimates, the sales are almost double the first day of New Year last year, and more than the sale during Diwali.
19,017 motorcycles and 6,570 electric conscious scooters sold
The Pune -based company sold 19,017 motorcycles and 6,570 electric conscious scooters on the day of Gudi Padwa, which is about a quarter of the total cells of its product. The company also sold 658 KTM bikes and 693 premium triumph bikes.
This record was made due to heavy demand for Chetak 35 Series
A senior company official said that this record sales has been possible due to heavy demand for the recently launched premium Chetak 35 series. Premium Chetak 35 Series falls in a category of more than 1 lakh rupees. This is a market segment that the company wanted to strengthen. Chetak 3502 priced at Rs 1.30 lakh and its upper model starts at Rs 1.42 lakh.

Company share in electric scooter market 50%
Bajaj’s market share in the premium of Rs 1 lakh and above was 15%, which is expected to grow further from the new product. Currently, the company has 50% stake in the electric scooter market. The second reason is that Bajaj has a strong distribution network in its domestic area. According to estimates, the company has more than 1,200 dealers here.
