Every year a large number of tourists arrive in the Besaran Valley.
In the Besaran Valley of Pahalgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists killed 26 tourists with a cowardly attack. It is called Mini Sweetzerland. The Lidar River originates from the Sheshnag Lake and joins the Jhelum River near Anantnag via Chandanwadi, Pahalgam. This is rafting in the river Lidar, which goes through high mountains and dense forests all around.

Chandanwadi is 15 km from Pahalgam. Valley is also located on the way to Chandanwadi, where the film ‘Betab’ was shot. Both these places are very beautiful and the untouched beauty of the Lidar River can be seen here.

Valley of Shepherd Pahalgam is also called Valley of Shepherd. From here, the Gujjar community lives with its flocks on the banks of the lakes situated on the high mountains. These people go up in April-May and return down in October. They get good quality Pashmina wool, which costs a lot. Fabrics made of Pashmina wool are very soft and light and are also very hot.
Pahalgam can be visited anytime, but the time of April to June is best, because during this time the weather also remains cool and there is a different pleasure to spend holidays. The crowd is more due to the Amarnath Yatra in July and August. The time from September to November is also good.
