Badshah launches new label in partnership with Universal Music India

Badshah has launched his own music label, Pentertainment 0075, in partnership with Universal Music India, with which he struck an exclusive global agreement in 2021.

Explaining the label’s name, Badshah and Universal Music India shared that it is “an amalgamation of Pen and Entertainment – a hat-tip to the artistry and joy his music has brought to listeners all over the world.”

Universal Music India highlighted that this new venture follows Badshah’s “successful run across various major labels” and his extensive track record of delivering chart-topping hits across multiple genres and formats, including film and I-pop.

Pentertainment 0075 is set to be a platform for fresh talent, with a mission to collaborate with emerging artists from across the globe. While the label’s initial focus will be on hip-hop—reflecting Badshah’s dominance in the genre—it will also embrace artists from diverse musical backgrounds.

The label’s first release, “Dear Aditya,” debuted earlier this month on Badshah’s official YouTube channel.

Speaking about this new chapter, Badshah said: “This is about me getting back to my roots, after I have travelled the world on my musical journey, so to speak. This is about trusting your gut and taking a leap from your comfort zone.

“The time had come for me to launch into my independent musical narrative and create music that resonates and is relevant. To reinvent genres and mine artists from anywhere that deserve a platform to express and create.

“Pentertainment 0075 was created out of this need. And who better than my long-standing trusted partner – Universal Music India, to support me along this new path. This is a massively exciting move and I am raring to go.”
