Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi has ordered an FIR in the misuse of government money on former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal is accused of misusing public money to get big hoardings for campaigning.
While hearing the petition seeking an FIR on Kejriwal and two other leaders Gulab Singh and Nitika Sharma, the court has directed the Delhi Police to register an FIR. The court has sought a report by 18 March.

Petition filed in court 6 years ago
In 2019, a petition was filed in a Delhi court. It was alleged that Arvind Kejriwal, former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gulab Singh and Councilor Nitika Sharma from Dwarka Nitika Sharma have misused public money by putting big hoardings in the entire area. The lower court then dismissed the petition and refused to allow the FIR.
Last January 2024, the Directorate of Information and Publicity also asked the AAP to return Rs 163.62 crore including interest to misuse public money for political advertisements.
BJP’s charge- Expendicted on publicity than the budget of the scheme
- The BJP had alleged in January 2025 that the AAP had spent more than the budget of some schemes on its publicity. The BJP claimed that Rs 54 crore was released for the Business Blasters Yojana, while Rs 80 crore was spent in its campaign.
- At the same time, a budget of Rs 1.9 crore was kept for the Mentor scheme, while the publicity of the scheme was spent Rs 27.9 crore. There was a budget of Rs 77 lakh for the stubble management scheme, while the publicity was spent 28 crore rupees.
Center order- Renovation will be investigated in Kejriwal’s bungalow

Earlier, the central government had ordered an inquiry into a renovation in the bungalow at 6 Flag Staff Road by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) issued an inquiry order on 13 February. This order was given after the report of the Central Public Workers Department (CPWD) came out.
The report said that several rules were broken in the construction of a bungalow built on 40 thousand square yards (8 acres). Before the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP had alleged that more than Rs 45 crore has been spent in the renovation of the bungalow. The BJP has named the bungalow of Kejriwal’s Sheeshamahal. Kejriwal lived here from 2015 to 2024.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva had complained to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena that Kejriwal’s bungalow was made incorrectly by mixing 4 government properties. This process should be canceled. BJP’s Chief Minister will not stay in this bungalow after the oath.
