The accused was the kingpin of Mandeep Kaur gang.
Amritsar police have arrested a fake female policeman, who was part of a large drug racket running across the border. Police have arrested four people, including 27 -year -old Mandeep Kaur of Ibban Kalan village. 5.2 kg of heroin has been recovered from the accused.

Punjab’s DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Mandeep Kaur is the gang leader. She sometimes smuggled intoxication by wearing a police uniform. Mandeep’s ancestral house is in Khalra village of Tarn Taran, just 2 km from the Indo-Pak border. One of his relatives introduced him to Pakistani smugglers.
The police have also arrested Mandeep along with Alam Arora (23), Manmeet alias Golu (21) of Chheharrata and an 18 -year -old youth of Tarn Taran. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that this action was taken on the basis of secret information. First Mandeep and his two companions were caught. The fourth accused was then arrested on his spot.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that further investigation is going on and more arrests and seizures are likely in the coming days. A case FIR number 53 has been registered on March 20, 2025 under Section 21 (C), 21 (B) and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Chheharrata, Amritsar.
