When Israel was attacked, Air India flight was in Jordan’s air space.
Israel’s busiest airport, Ben Gurian International Airport, was attacked by Iran -backed Huti rebels on Sunday morning with a ballistic missile. Due to this attack, the flight AI139 of Air India going from Delhi to Tel Aviv had to divert Abu Dhabi.
There was only one hour left in the aircraft landing at the time of the attack. According to the flight tracking website flightradar24, the aircraft was in Jordan’s airspace at that time. According to reports, there were about 300 people in the plane.
Air India has confirmed that the flight made a safe landing in Abu Dhabi and will be returned to Delhi soon. AI India has said that passengers who have booked tickets for flights between 3 to 6 May 2025 will be given the option to change their tickets or to get the entire money back.
Flights at the airport stayed for about 30 minutes after the attack, but the normal situation was later restored.
8 injured in missile attack, 1 serious
The missile damaged a road and a vehicle in the airport premises. The Israeli army has admitted that their defense system failed to stop the missile. It is being verified. 8 people have been injured in this attack.
Huti rebels claimed responsibility for the attack and claimed that the attack on Gaza has been carried out against Israel’s military operations and the blockade continued since March 2022.
Huti spokesperson Yahya Sara said that the ‘Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile’ was used in the attack. This distinguished Israel’s air defense system. However, the Israeli army has rejected the claim of hypersonic missile.
Israeli PM convened emergency meeting
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has warned to respond to the attack. He said, “Who will harm us, we will answer him 7 times.” Katj said that we will have the same result with Huti that we have done with Hamas and Hizbullah.
After the missile attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also called a special meeting. In this meeting, Netanyahu will discuss with the officials of the Israeli Defense Force about what action should be taken against the Huti rebels.
Israel has been avoiding retaliation on Yemen even after the attack of Huki fighters.
Who is Huki Rebel
