Sandipa Dhar is in the headlines due to more dance than acting. She often puts a video of dance on her social media, which fans also like a lot. The actress believes that she considers herself a better dancer than an actor.
On the occasion of World Dance Day, Sandipa has talked to Dainik Bhaskar about her passion about dance.
Question- You started learning dance at a very young age. Apart from Bharatanatyam, you have mastered many dances.
Yes, my first passion is dancing. I feel personally that I am a better dancer than actor. I have been dancing since childhood. This is my hobby for me. I have been a very shy girl, so dancing is a means for me to express myself. Dance has saved me in my failure and bad times. When I dance, I forget everything. Whether I am angry, frustration is all out of dance.
I think Art is something you are born with. You cannot achieve it. I am glad that I have given me an art form in God. There is a spiritual connection with dance. I probably cannot express what I feel while dancing. For me it is like meditation. In this, a direct connection to God is formed.
Question- You consider herself a very big fan of Madhuri Dixit.
I have seen only his songs in my childhood. I am his big fan. I was very young and Madhuri’s ‘Didi Tera Dewar Deewana’, ‘Mae Ni Mae’, told the mother that I have to do this too. My mother then put me in Bharatanatyam class at an early age.
There is no one like Madhuri. There is no expression like him, Grace is not in anyone. Right now when people say to anyone and not that it is a good dancer. I do not agree with that. What was in Madhuri and Sridevi ji. Where do you get to see like that now?
Question- Have you ever got a chance to meet Madhuri Dixit?
Yes, I have met him. I remember that I was nominated at the Stardust Award for my first film ‘Ishi Life Mein’. I also won that award. She was sitting with me in that award function. The happiest thing was that she knew about me. My first film was Rajshri Production, so we also had a Rajshri connection.
He was with him my business fan moment. I was very happy and nervous. She is very humble and meets warmly. However, I never got a chance after that. I wish that someday I dance with them. Share the stage together.
