MexicoKanTours 3 Cenotes & Jungle Trail Biking
One of things we love to do when traveling to new destinations, is taking an eco-friendly bike tour.
On our recent travels to Tulum in Mexico, we did just that with …
🌺 MexicoKanTours 🌺
My wife and I love to swim and snorkel, so their Cenote Trail Bike Tour, looked perfect!

Our 3 Cenotes & Jungle Trail Biking Tour
If you are staying locally, they do offer pick up service to their shop in town.
As we were staying a short ways away in Akumal, we hopped the local Colectivo, {local van transportation} just outside our hotel, on the main highway. We were dropped off right at their store for a start time of 07:45 am.
Once our group was gathered and bikes and equipment sorted, we were on our way!
Our first stop, the {Grand Cenote}, was about a 30 minute ride, from the store.
Grand Cenote
This is one of the most popular public cenotes in the area, known for its cave systems, underground river and open sections.
In the open part of the cenote, there’s a number of friendly wild turtles in and around the water, you can swim and snorkel with.
The reason for the early start, is that our superb guide’s on this tour {Fernando & Auvelio}, wanted to make sure we arrived there ☀ early.
As this is a very popular site, it would give us a chance to enjoy the cenote, before the crowds arrived.
Once we were checked in, snorkel equipment and life vest handed out, we hopped in the water, with both our guides.
The group enjoyed a nice leisurely swim and snorkel, with our guides showing the way, with their waterproof flashlights. With their bright flashlights, you could truly experience the cenotes and caves, underground.
After drying off and returning our equipment, it was time to get back on the bikes and pedal, to our next stop, to enjoy a nice brunch.
The biking is about 4 kilometers in length, into a peaceful jungle-like setting. We were served with a freshly prepared, homemade brunch at a small hidden away guest house.
This was a lovely and unique guesthouse, located in a peaceful and quiet setting.
Our host prepared a superb brunch, offering amazing freshly made juice, ☕ coffee and healthy gourmet sandwiches.
After brunch and enjoying the grounds surrounding the guesthouse, it was off to our next stop.
Cenote Cristal
After a hot and busy ride to this cenote, we were all ready for a nice refreshing dip, in the crystal clear waters.
This is a much less busy and open cenote, surrounded by thick and beautiful vegetation.
It’s a perfect spot for a swim and to have a little fun. They have a platform to dive and jump off of, as well as a rope swing to practice; your loops and spins!
This cenote is also popular for scuba divers entering the surrounding cave system below.
Our guides gave us all the time we needed, to enjoy the water and relax in the peaceful surroundings, of this cenote.
Everyone in the group thoroughly enjoyed their time here and without any pressure whatsoever from our guides, in rushing to press on. We could spend as much, or as little time at each destination, as we all liked. 👍
Escondido
Once we were all satisfied and ready to move to our final destination, it was a short skip and jump, over to … Escondido.
This is also another nice and quiet open cenote in a lush peaceful setting.
It’s a perfect place for swimming, rope jumping or tree jumping!
It’s also a great location for snorkeling and scuba diving into the world of hidden caves, located beneath the surface.
Just another excellent spot, to enjoy nature and the beautiful freshwater of the amazing cenotes, of the Yucatan Peninsula.
