Board examinations are going on in different parts of the country since February. Meanwhile, 8 papers of board exams have been leaked in 6 states within 28 days. This is affecting 54 lakhs of UP Board, 5.16 lakh of Haryana Board, 1.95 lakh of Himachal Pradesh Board, 15 lakhs of Maharashtra Board, 7.83 lakh of Jharkhand Board and 37 thousand students of Manipur Board.
1. UP Board On March 1, the UP Board had a math paper. On the same day, Etah’s Chaudhary BL Inter College Center Administrator Anju Yadav put the question paper official examination in the WhatsApp group in the morning. This happened within an hour started the paper started. After this, the paper was removed from the WhatsApp group and an FIR was immediately lodged against Anju Yadav.
In the UP board examination, 7 fake candidates were also arrested in which three fake candidates were arrested from Etah, two in Moradabad and one each in Azamgarh-Kanpur. An FIR was also lodged against a room inspector three center administrator and 14 others on charges of copying. A total of 25 people have been registered in different districts regarding board exams.
2. Haryana Board Haryana Board’s 10th Maths paper leaked on February 28 and started going viral on social media. Earlier on February 27, Haryana Board’s 12th English paper was also leaked.
A case was registered against five people, including two supervisors, to plot paper leaks in Nuh. Police has also arrested three people in this. At the same time, 7 people have been arrested for cheating and cheating in Palwal.
3. Himachal Pradesh Board Himachal Pradesh Board’s 12th English paper had to be canceled throughout the state due to paper leaks. Actually, there was to be the 10th English paper on March 7 and the 12th English paper on March 8. On 7 March, someone made a secret complaint to the board. It said that the 12th paper to be held the next day has already been opened. This was found to be true in the board investigation and due to this the English paper of 12th was canceled. At present, investigation is going on in this case.
4. Maharashtra Board On 21 February, Marathi paper of 10th board was leaked in Jalna district of Maharashtra. After the question paper was leaked here, work was also done to get the students photocopped by photocopying the answer sheet.
5. Jharkhand Board The board examinations of 10th and 12th started from 11 February. On February 18, there was a 10th Hindi paper and science paper on 20 February. Both these papers were leaked and circulated on social media. After this, both the papers were canceled by the Jharkhand Academic Council. After this, these examinations were taken on 7 and 8 March.
6. Paper leaked in Manipur The Manipur Board leaked social science paper during the 10th exam. In this case, Bosem i.e. Board of Secondary Education Manipur lodged a complaint with the Cybercrime Police Station and the matter is being investigated.
There was a dispute over NEET UG paper last year
In 2024, on June 4, NTA released the result of NEET UG. In this, 67 candidates got Air 1. Even before the result was released, this exam was being accused of paper leak.
On 8 June, NTA formed an inquiry committee regarding NEET UG paper leaks and other disturbances. Apart from this, there were many FIRs about this and more than 50 people were arrested. After this, a committee was formed for change in NTA, which also gave suggestions to make changes. Radhakrishnan, the former head of ISRO, was leading this committee.
After this, the responsibility of conducting 9 major recruitment exams from NTA was taken away and now NTA only provides entrance exams.
Significantly, last year the NEET paper leak case reached the Supreme Court, after which the issue like paper leak became a matter of discussion among the people. But despite this, the education department does not seem to be taking the paper leak seriously. In the 10th-12th board exams, copy mafia are active and are constantly leaking paper. In such a situation, students are confused and are raising questions whether they have to take exams seriously or not? And why are governments failing to stop paper leaks?
