Russia Ukraine War: Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsci described the Easter ceasefire of Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday (April 20, 2025) as a pretense. He alleged that Moscow’s efforts were continued overnight to harm Ukraine on the advance front.

Ukrainian President claimed that on Sunday morning the Ukrainian army reported 59 fire -fire incidents and 5 attempts of attack on the front line. He said that hundreds of fire incidents took place on Saturday evening. Ukraine’s army confirmed that the activity on the advance front had decreased, but the fight did not stop. Ukraine’s Eastern Front military spokesperson Victor Trehubov told the national television, “It is decreasing, but has not ended. Honestly, we did not expect much that this would actually happen. ‘

The Russian President announced a unilateral ceasefire on the occasion of Easter on Saturday and ordered the Russian army to stop the war from the end of Sunday at 8.30 pm on Saturday night (IST). The Russian President said that he hopes Ukraine will follow Russia’s example. However, he directed Russian General Staff chief Varri Garasimov to put Russian soldiers on standby to prevent any violation of the ceasefire on behalf of Kiev.
